The TXS downpipe is larger than any other WRX/Sti/FXT downpipe on the market. Why is that important? Because, despite what your girlfriend might tell you, size does matter. Turbochargers work best when there is large pressure and temperature differential across the turbine wheel. TurboXS introduces the 2008 WRX and STI Cold Air Intake. As rule of thumb on a turbocharged vehicle you will want to free up the flow into the turbocharger allowing it to build boost much easier through a less restrictive intake path. The use of a high quality filter element was required to keep up with the air flow demands of a 2.5L Turbocharged engine. Air is directed through a polished lightweight mandrel bent aluminum piping reducing any flow restrictions. A precisely machined mass air flow housing to ensure the sensor calibration is not altered causing any adverse effects to the vehicles air to fuel ratio. The kit is designed to fit with our upcoming front mount intercooler so, do not worry that you will be buying another intake in the future. Form and Function in one piece!

Designing a downpipe is usually a simple feat right, no. It's pretty easy to make a make a pipe look like a factory piece. The difficult part is making a pipe with a cat inside to make very close to catless power. Our downpipe was able to extract the optimal amount of flow out of the downpipe with a cat in place. This was done with strategic placement of metal matrix catalytic converter and 3 inch T304 Stainless piping. By playing with the cell count of the cat and the placement we were able to achieve a part that does not trigger a cel and supports high power levels.

For those who are not concerned with running a cat's at all. We do offer a completely catless version which doesn't trigger a cel either. We have the option for your power needs!

When designing a catback you have to have foresight. In this particular situation we needed to think about what would a customer want to do with this car and how would that translate to making a proper fitting exhaust. The first thing was it has to be T304 Stainless 3 inch diameter mandrel bent piping which was a no brainer. Second was to get the exhaust note to a tone that is acceptable without sacrificing the performance of the car. We played with multiple muffler designs, some longer some shorter. We settled on the current size and outer diameter that would equal superb sound quality and incredible performance. The final step was to finish the exhaust with a tip that fits the rear fascia and suits all the lines, a 3.5 inch slash cut tip fit with perfection. So we "thought" we were finished, lowered the car, turns out we needed to rework the midpipe to work on a lowered car. It turns out that this is common problem with other exhaust systems. NOT OURS!


TurboXS Cold Air Intake

TurboXS releases the Cold Air Intake for the 2008+ Cobalt SS. Designed with maximum horsepower in mind our Cold Air Intake pulls air from the fender low and far away from the engine bay keeping the intake charge cool. Typically good for 10-15 whp on a stock LNF. Coupled with our high flow filter air makes for a great first mod but will be useful beyond the simple bolt on modifications. The polished finish is definite show stopper, especially if matched with our Intercooler Hard Pipe Kit and Front Mount Intercooler Core. Great first mod!

TurboXS releases the Front Mount Intercooler Core for the 2008+ Cobalt SS. Featuring our huge 27in x 8in x 4in core with our proven bar and plate design. You can use the Electric water pump to delete your mechanical driven water pump which can result in less drag on the pulley system, resulting into quicker revs and smoother acceleration.

Increased Efficiency
The traditional mechanical water pump runs off of the rotation of the crankshaft. It is a simple way of pumping cool water through the engine, but mechanical water pump designs are a compromise in efficiency. Electronically controlled, the EWP pumps water much more efficiently due to not being restrained to too low or too high crank speeds. Reducing parasitic loss by removing the mechanical fuel pump will free up horsepower, increase fuel economoy, and improve engine response.

Install
The most common install location is directly on the bottom radiator hose, however you can get as creative as you want. Due to the slight expansion of the pump from heat, hard mounting is not recommended. The stock water pump can be disabled (remove impellor) to allow for reuse of the stock belt.

Operation
1. Used in conjunction with Digital EWP Controller
The digital controller allows you to set a target temperature, think of it as a programmable thermostat. The controller will also run the water pump after you shut your car off to prevent heat soak.

2. Use in conjunction with Thermal Switch
Combine the EWP with an adjustable Thermal Switch to add a cooling boost to an overheating mechanical pump cooling system.

3. Continuous Running
Wire the pump to the ignition for maximum cooling - suitable for race vehicles, very hot climates and chronically overheating engines.

What are the benefits? The OEM EJ20 Oil Pan is flat and wide, which can result in oil at times sloshing around in the oil pan during hard cornering and acceleration. This occurring could lead to times where the oil pickup isn't getting a sufficient amount of oil to consume.

The STI Oil Pan is narrower in one particular location so it won't be able to do this as much and which occurring, the oil pan is in a much better position to consume the right amount of oil.

Some feel this is a good preventative measure so there won't be any type of bearing issues due to lack of oil consumption.

Thermo Tec Turbo Insulator

The Turbo Kit was designed to protect, improve performance, and eliminate turbo lag of a turbo charger. The key to turbo performance is to keep a flow of high temperature exhaust gases moving through the exhaust side impeller.

This complete kit, to contain the heat produced by a turbo, fits a wide variety of turbines. The custom cut-to-fit kit comes with an excessive amount of material to cover turbos from the smallest automotive application to heavy-duty truck applications.

Two Turbo Kits are available - a four cylinder kit, and a six and eight cylinder kit. Each kit contains a roll of Exhaust Insulating Wrap 1 or 2 inch, 1 yard of Aluminized Heat Barrier, and a 3' X 6" piece of Exhaust Insulating Wrap. Hardware and instructions are included. AEM DryFlow Air Filters: The Best Filtration

AEM has reinvented the Lifetime performance aftermarket air filter. Our DryFlow Synthetic filter is the first performance air filter that does not require filter oil to filter and trap dirt and contaminants, and delivers industry leading filtration and durability that is unmatched by our competitors.

AEMs DryFlow Synthetic filter eliminates the hassle of re-oiling after cleaning and has better filtration and dust trapping capabilities than any other performance aftermarket filter. Our unique non-woven polyester element filters out 98.6% of airborne dust in initial efficiency (99.4% cumulative efficiency), and filters down to ONE MICRON of particulate! For comparison, a human hair is about 100 microns thick. This improved efficiency translates into longer engine life by keeping more ring- and seal-eating dirt out of your engine, with no degradation in engine power compared to oiled air filters. Durable and Easy to Clean

Our media is so durable that it can withstand almost unlimited cleanings without degrading filtration efficiency, and its easy to clean! AEMs DryFlow Synthetic filter flows almost as well when it is dirty as it does when it is clean, and flows over twice as much air than is required for large displacement engines in vehicle applications covered by BRUTE FORCE intakes. Many of our competitors emphasize flow as a primary means of power production in intakes, stated Chief Engineer John Concialdi. While flow is certainly an important part of the equation, we find that tuning the inlet to work with the harmonics of the engine produces the best power gains. We address flow in the sense that the engine requires a given amount of flow, so we calculate our filter size to exceed this flow requirement to accommodate potential future engine modifications. This allows us to retain a high level of filtration efficiency and still exceed the flow requirements of an engine. Our filters will trap more dirt, and consequently extend the life of the rings and seals in your engine.
